Dawg and Suds Mobile Grooming Service's motto is "we take your dog from scruffy to fluffy" and gosh is that true. I was a little afraid to get in the van at first, but Laurie the groomer was awesome and she was patient with me. She cut my nails and I barely cried. My bath and comb out made me feel like I had puppy fur again. The bottom line is this: they we knowledgeable, the facilities were state of the art, and it was convenient for my humans. Look at how great I look.
So I have to ask the question that all dogs want to know: why do dogs need baths? I don't have sweat glands in my skin and I certainly don't get nasty B.O.! My coat protects me from a lot. While it is true that most dogs don't need to be bathed often, if at all, sometimes I do smell and in the spring and summer I shed.If you do bathe your dog be aware that you do not want to strip away too much of the oils from your dogs skin as it can dry out their coat and skin. Use shampoo sparsely and make sure they don't have strong perfumes (were not Humans and we don't care how we smell). Often rinsing your dog and using a moisturizing conditioner is better.
Besides this, groomers generally do more than wash your dog: they clip their nails, check their ears and clean them if necessary, and comb out undercoats among other services. If you have any questions about grooming consult your local groomer or veterinarian. They can give you the best advice for how to care for your dog appropriately depending on their breed. My groomer recommends a doggy spa day every 8-10 weeks.
Looking good is important to me and the attention I get is totally worth it!
